Drive north to Caesarea, which was the ancient Roman capital of the region. See the excavations of the crusaders’ city, the aqueduct and the beautiful amphitheater which has been restored and is used as a concert venue. Proceed to Haifa for a magnificent view from Mt. Carmel. In Haifa, you will visit “AF AL PI CHEN”, the naval museum of the illegal immigration to Israel at the time of the British mandate. From there, drive to the city of Akko where you will walk along the old harbor and through the local market.Your tour will continue to Rosh Hanikra, the northern most tip of Israel descend by cable car into the limestone Grottoes.

Monday

Drive to Safed, center of Kabala movement. Visit the most important synagogues in the city- the JOSEPH CARO and the HA’ ARI synagogues, and stroll around the Artist’s quarter. After leaving Safed, enjoy a Jeep tour to the foot of the Golan. Continue to the Golan Heights and stop along the way at the observation points over the city of Kuneitra, and the Syrian territory. Stop at Tel Facher, a former Syrian army camp; Visit the Banias springs. Next, a visit to Tel-Hai and ;See the “Roaring Lion” monument and learn about the heroic battle of Josef Trumpeldor and his comrades in 1920.  Meet a kibbutz member and learn about their unique lifestyle.

Tuesday

Drive to Tiberius to visit Rambam’s grave. Then proceed to Beit Shean,  also called “Scythopolis”, the site of the biggest archeological park in Israel featuring beautiful excavations from Roman and Byzantine periods. You will stop at Beit Alpha to see the beautiful mosaic floor of a synagogue from the Byzantine period. Enjoy the water springs at Gan Hashlosha, (Sachne) located at the foot of the Gilboa mountain, the famous mountain on which King Saul was killed in the battle against the philistines. From there, your tour will continue to Jerusalem, stopping at Mount Scopus for a blessing as you enter the city,

Wednesday

Tour the old city of Jerusalem.

In the morning you will visit of the tomb of King David on Mt. Zion.  In the Old City, walk along the Cardo( the ancient Roman road) and visit the four Sephardic synagogues restored after 1967 war in the Jewish quarter. You will tour the Western Wall Tunnels and visit the Davidson center. Take a walk through the Roman Cardo, to the local Arab bazaar. Walk through Jaffa gate to David’s Tower museum and see the ancient remains of the city beginning with the first Temple period.

Thursday

Depart the hotel and arrive to the Western Wall in the old city of Jerusalem.

*Celebrate the Bar/Bat-Mitzvah ceremonies at the Kotel.

Continue to Mea Shearim  where you will learn about the ultra-orthodox communites’ unique lifestyle. Drive by the Knesset, Israel’s parliament and see the Menorah with the biblical emblems.  Next visit the Israel Museum, and see Dead Sea scrolls at the Shrine of the Book, and the Holyland model – a miniature replica of Jerusalem as it was during the second temple period. From the museum you will drive to and visit Mount Herzl, the military cemetery and Yad Vashem, the memorial to the Holocaust. Visit the Ammunition hill, a former Jordanian army stronghold, conquered by the Israeli army in the Six Day War, and converted into a national memorial site and museum.

This will be a perfect opportunity, while the rest of the group will tour Mea Shearim, arrangements will be made at the Wall with a Rabbi. Friday

Drive through the Judean desert to the Dead Sea and along the way you will stop at Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. Continue on to Masada where you will ascend by cable car and tour the ancient site, where you can visit the remains of the walls, palaces, synagogue, the bathhouses etc.  Descend by cable car, next stop for lunch and spa facilities at one of the leading hotels in the area. Return to Jerusalem.
