Description and History of the Rockefeller Museum

Located in East Jerusalem, just west of the Damascas Gate. The museum houses an incredible collection of archaeological findings. The rich collection of antiquities will leave archaeology lovers clamouring for more. The architecture is magnificent and the galleries reveal numerous treasures from findings in Gezer, jericho and Beit Shean, among others  Other displays show coins and numerous other artifacts that have been discovered over the last century. The museum was built by John D. Rockefeller in 1938, during British rule.

There is a shuttle that is offered between the Israel Museum and the Rockefeller Museum which can be quite handy. Special pricing combining both museums is also available.
