Background Information on Mount Arbel
Mount Arbel is mentioned only once in the Bible in Hoseas 10,14, and not even once in the New Testament, but it was for certain a place well known to Jesus and his disciples because of its position as a main land mark around the Sea of Galilee. It is known that the foot of the mountain touched on a much used travel route connecting the lake to the west, and Jesus most likely used the route too when travelling in the area. Today Mount Arbel's dramatic cliffs are seen from nearly any spot around the Sea of Galilee and several modern settlements can be found on its long, flat top in addition to a golf course soon to be inaugurated.
