Join Dr. Brad Young, Founder of the Gospel Research Foundation and one of the foremost biblical scholars for an incredible weeklong journey with to Israel, September 28 - October 4, 2015.

 

Dr. Young is a Professor at Oral Roberts University, the Founder of the Gospel Research Foundation and one of the founding scholars of the Jerusalem School of Synoptic Studies. An internationally recognized authority and speaker on the life and teachings of Jesus and his scholarly contributions to the comparative study of the Gospel and rabbinic parables. Dr. Young has an MA and Phd from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem

  • Visit kibbutzim and meet with locals impacted by last summer's war with Gaza and see a destroyed tunnel
  • Celebrate Communion  at the Garden Tomb

Day 1 September 28

 

  • Arrive at Tel Aviv airport and meet your guide
  • Tour the ancient port city of Jaffa home of Simon the Tanner (Tabitha, Act
  • 9:36).
  • See the ancient port, the rocks of Andromeda (Greek mythology), hear
  • the story of Jonah and the whale. 
  • Check into your hotel in Tel Aviv
  • Dinner a thte Grand Beach in Tel Aviv

 

Day 2 -September 29

 

  • Morning Breakfast
  • Depart Tel Aviv to Southern Israel communities
  • Tour the new Gush Katif Museum in Nitzan which documents Israels difficult withdrawl of its residents from the settlement communities inside the Gaza Strip in 2005
  • Visit the Black Arrow Monument on the eastern border with Gaza
  • See remnants of missiles and mortars that fell in Sderot
  • Visit Netiv Ha'asara, Israel's southernmost moshav, that lies just north of the Gaza border 
  • Hear about life on the front line as you meet with kibbutz members, tour the shelters, and see where tunnel was discovered
  • Evening dinner at Grand Beach in Tel Aviv and overnight

 

Day 3 - September 30

 

 

  • Morning breakfast at your hotel
  • Tour Independence Hall, where Ben Gurion proclaimed Israel's independence in 1948, situated in the heart of Tel Aviv's exciting financial district
  • Learn about Israel's immigration and absorption of Jews around into the country as you visit an Ethiopian absorption center and meet with residents
  • Learn how the Jewish people have sustained themselves for thousands of years in your visit to the Diaspora Museum
  • Celebrate the holiday of Sukkot with a festive Succah experience in Tel Aviv
  • Evening dinner at the Grand Beach in Tel Aviv and overnight

 


Day 4 - October 1

 

  • Morning Breakfast
  • Travel to Efrata for special Hallel ceremony with Rabbi Riskin the CJCUC
  • Walk thru the City of David tunnels under the current Old City walls and to the Western Wall plaza exiting near the Robinson Arch alongside the Western Wall
  • Visit the Southwestern steps and stand where Jesus stood 
  • See the Western Wall and place a note in the most holiest of Jewish sites
  • Walk up the Via Dolorosa past the Stations of the Cross ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and visit many of the important sites along this famous replica watches pathway
  • Dinner and overnight Grand Hotel in Tel Aviv

 

Day 5 - October 2

 

  • Morning Breakfast at hotel
  • Visit Qumran and see where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered
  • Climb Masada, site of the last stand of the Jews against the Romans, to see the sunrise over the mountains of Moab
  • Take time to relax and float on the waters of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth, filled with rich, soothing minerals
  • Evening Shabbat dinner experience with local English speaking families in their homes in Jerusalem
  • Overnight Grand Hotel in Bethlehem

 

Day 6 - October 3

 

  • Enjoy breakfast with Naim Khoury, Pastor of the Evangelical Alliance Church Visit the Great Synagague in Jerusalem
  • Tour the many sites on Mount Zion including King David's Tomb and the Room of the Last Supper Room
  • Celebrate communion at the Garden Tomb -possible location of Golgotha
  • and Skull Hill, just outside the walls of the Old City
  • Visit Bethlehem the site of the Church of Nativity, the birthplace of Jesus and see the Milk Grotto, St. Catherines Church and Manger Square
  • Visit Shepherds Fields (Luke 2, 2-7)
  • Free time for shopping in Bethlehem
  • Dinner and overnight at the Grand Hotel in Bethlehem

 

Day 7 - October 4

 

  • Morning breakfast and check out of the hotel
