Background of Domus Galilaeae
Domus Galilaeae is an educational institute and retreat center run by the Neo-Catechumenical Way. The center was built at the urging of Pope Paul VI as a place for Seminarians could complete their studies before being ordained. Opened in 2002, the center is ideally located on the stunning hillside known as the Beatitudes overlooking the Mount of Beatitudes and the Sea of Galilee below. The center contains a foundation stone from the tomb of St. Peter. Retreats for priests from all over the world occur at this facility. It also offers a spectacular auditorium and sefar Torah.
