Sunday August 6 DAY 1.  Departure from England and arrive in Israel in early AM

 

Monday August 7 DAY 2. Start the day with breakfast and volunteering at Ramle Food Hall. Later, visit Capernaum, St. Peter's Tabgha, and the Mount of Beatitudes.  End the day with a late afternoon boat ride across the Sea of Galilee. Overnight and Dinner at the Sea of Galilee.

 

Tuesday August 8 DAY 3.   Visit  Tzippori the home of Mary, mother of Jesus. Then onto Kfar Kedem, a 1st Century re-creation of a Galilean village. Stop at Gideons Springs. Visit Beit Shean, one of the oldest Roman cities. Stop at Yardenit where those who wish can be baptised. Overnight at the Sea of Galilee.

 

Wednesday August 9 DAY 4.  Start the day by driving to Acco and touring the ancient old city. Then drive south with a stop at Mt. Carmel to Netanya and see the headquarters of MDA  Israel's volunteer emergency response network.  Continue on towards Jerusalem, stopping at Ramle's Food Hall and distributing food.  Dinner in Jerusalem.

 

Thursday August 10 DAY 5.  Travel to the top of the Mount of Olives near the site where Jesus ascended into heaven and the prophet Zechariah says our Lord will return to.  Continue to the Garden of Gethsemane, pray in the Church of All Nations.  Enter the Old City through the Lion's Gate and see the Pools of Bethesda, stop in St. Anne's Church, and tour the remains of the Antonia Fortress where Pontius Pilate judged Jesus. Walk along the Via Dolorosa.  Time for Shopping

 

 

Friday August 11 Day 6- Enter the old city of Jerusalem via the Dung Gate and visit the Southern Wall excavations and Western Wall.  Enjoy a tour of the Rabbis' Tunnel under the Temple Mount.  Continue on to the Jewish Quarter and visit the Hurva Synagague. Visit Mt. Zion, and the Upper room and the House of Caiaphas where Peter denied the Lord.   Finish the day at Golgotha and the Garden Tomb for a special time of communion. Overnight and Dinner in Jerusalem.

 

Saturday August 12 Day 7. Visit Ein Karem, the birthplace of John the Baptist. Continue through the Ella Valley to Bethlehem and see the Church of the Nativity and Shepherds Fields. Time permitting, visit Herodian.

 

Sunday August 13  DAY 8.  Walk over to Christ Church for a final service at the Anglican Church. Breakfast at your hotel.
