Description

The property provides guests with a unique and quiet getaway removed from the surrounding city offering an atmosphere of cooperation and relaxation that has prompted many a diplomat, foreign guest or government to seek solace here. The property  enjoys a  history and reputation as a neutral player in the world of regional politics and, from 1948 thur 1967 was part of Jordan, though serving as a meeting grounds between Israel and Jordan during this period. The hotel units are located within three separate buildings, the main house, Palm House and the East House providing a variety of room types ranging from the large Pasha suites to standard guest rooms.  All the rooms are furnished in an oriental style equipped with telephones, televisions, air conditioning, heat as well as work desks and private bathrooms.

Background Information

The American Colony Hotel is considered a boutique five star property offering a total of 86 guest rooms in the heart of East Jerusalem. The historical building dates back to the late 1800's when it was first built as a pasha's palace and only later became a home for a group of American and Swedish immigrants. Later the property was converted into a high-end boutique hotel serving foreign guests. The property is part of the Leading Hotels of World group of properties.
