The first international Festival of Light - Light in Jerusalem 09 - took place in the Old City in June 2009 of this year, and was a huge success.
The Festival of Light - an event initiated by the Jerusalem Development Authority and produced by the Ariel Company - was attended by local and foreign artists who used light to create breathtaking statues, art installations, exhibits and works of art that were situated in the Old City's unique sites and squares. In addition to the light works, workshops and activities took place that were adapted to diverse audiences.
