Jerusalem Caricatures
Description
A new temporary exhibition entitled Caricatures in Jerusalem and presented in cooperation with the Israeli Cartoon Museum Holon, presenting for the first time works from leading caricature artists who drew inspiration from Jerusalem's people, places, events and everyday life.

According to exhibition curator, Eran Litvin, Jerusalem, with all its complexities and intricacies, is "a paradise for caricaturists. In such an atmosphere, the caricature has the advantage of contemplating with a smile the serious issues Jerusalem imposes on its residents and visitors. There is no limit to the creative thinking and criticism that can be brought to bear on the historical and contemporary events that the city has known."
Some sixty caricature artists are presenting works in Jerusalem in Caricatures, including Michel Kichka, Shmulik Katz, Zev Englermeir, Yirmi Pinkus, Amos Biderman. Topical issues and old community concerns both find expression in this exhibition. The caricatures are satirical portraits of the many faces of Jerusalem, with all its problems, complexity and charm.
