Description
For the Eastern churches this feaste denotes Christs's baptism in teh Jordan River.
The baptismal site of Qasr el Yahud is the site of the celebration. A procession of clergy and pilgrims (Orthodox) travel to the river bank for baptism celebrations. The Etiopian Orthodox celebate during the afternoon, and Coptics celebrate the following day.
