It's been 6 months since my pilgrimage to Israel...and time sure does fly. It feels like just yesturday the Holy Spirit told me to apply for a scholarship to visit Israel, and next thing you know I was on a plane full of people who clapped and rejoiced when we touched down in Tel Aviv. After my incredible experiences in The Holy Land, my life has embarked on a journey I thought would take another 5 years. It's true what they say, what we think can take a lifetime, God does in a split second.
I guess you never really know for sure why God calls you to certain things. Why would He place an urgency and conviction to support and stand with Israel, inside of a little girl from Detroit? A few Bible stories of the Israelities here and there, but I never grew up around the Jewish community, or even had a Jewish friend until I was 15. It's what God does in your life; the miracles and things that happen, that are always intertwined with your calling. For me, as a Christian, that calling is standing with Israel in the last days.
Since leaving Israel in August 2009, every blessing I've had, has been connected to Israel. I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to move to Texas, I did...and the floodgates have completely opened for me. I got to Texas, found an amazing church (Covenant Church with Pastor Mike Hayes) that completely supports Israel, and loves to worship God. I received a DEBT-FREE car. Completely free! Title and registration in hand with my name on i
*We had an itinerary put together, and I've taken some words and phrases from it.*
Touching down in the Land of Israel in the wee morning hours, I desperately tried to gather all my thoughts and realize exactly where I was. Our tour coach managed to park beside the Israeli National Soccer Team, and of course I had a moment watching these ridiculously handsome guys enter the airport. LOL ....I then proceeded to board MY bus and immediately pull out the camcorder; I didn't want to miss a beat.
We visited and ate breakfast at the Kibbutz of Yad Mordechai. I learned that this Kibbutz held back overwhelming Egyptian forces for 6 days in their attempt to capture Tel-Aviv farther up along the coastal road. Yad Mordechai is such a cool place, while we walked through they were showing the film Defiance, and the room we were in was recreated as the events took place. It was really amazing.
After the visit and breakfast at the Kibbutz, we went to
I'd like to start by saying, I love Israel! I loved it as a child in Bible stories, when I met my first known Jewish encounter, and as I've gotten older, the interest, love, and passion has only flourished. I am a Christian female. Born into a family that stressed the importance of respecting and honoring the apple of God's eye, the Jewish people and her land. It's always been in the back of my mind, to support in anyway I can. It's extremly difficult for me to watch a tv commerical about returning Jewis to the land and not pick up the phone. And as a Christian, it's more than obeying God's Word to receive the "blessing". Yes, we will be blessed for helping Israel, but I believe it takes a more genuine concern and drive. I feel only a few Christians will be chosen to take on the task of standing for Israel despite all costs. No matter what. Knowing that if anything happens to them, you might as well sign me up because I'm going to be side by side. There is no greater peace that fulfilling what God has planned for your life. The fun part is not knowing the master plan, but enjoying the bits and pieces given when your in line with His will.
