It's been 6 months since my pilgrimage to Israel...and time sure does fly. It feels like just yesturday the Holy Spirit told me to apply for a scholarship to visit Israel, and next thing you know I was on a plane full of people who clapped and rejoiced when we touched down in Tel Aviv. After my incredible experiences in The Holy Land, my life has embarked on a journey I thought would take another 5 years. It's true what they say, what we think can take a lifetime, God does in a split second.

I guess you never really know for sure why God calls you to certain things. Why would He place an urgency and conviction to support and stand with Israel, inside of a little girl from Detroit? A few Bible stories of the Israelities here and there, but I never grew up around the Jewish community, or even had a Jewish friend until I was 15. It's what God does in your life; the miracles and things that happen, that are always intertwined with your calling. For me, as a Christian, that calling is standing with Israel in the last days.

Since leaving Israel in August 2009, every blessing I've had, has been connected to Israel. I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to move to Texas, I did...and the floodgates have completely opened for me. I got to Texas, found an amazing church (Covenant Church with Pastor Mike Hayes) that completely supports Israel, and loves to worship God. I received a DEBT-FREE car. Completely free! Title and registration in hand with my name on i

I've never minded being the only "Israel supporting Believer" my fellow Christian friends knew, but now it's become a bit troubling because I've noticed their progress hasn't changed concerning support for Israel, and learning about our Hebraic roots. I mean, we are literally on the brink of the end of days here with Israel events leading the way. It frustrates me to see so many devoted Christians wrapped into sooo many other aspects of life. Yes, I completely agree with God wanting the best for you, and all the wonderful blessings that accompany a Christian lifestyle; but why don't they include the least bit of taking a stand of supporting Israel?!? I often wonder what it's going to take for them to get it. If we're "Christians", we should be concerned about Kingdom Business, and blessing Israel is definitely in God's will for every Believer. You don't need a prophetic word to get this one.

The passion that I posses for Israel is not about a bowl of Hummus and marrying some guy named Boaz; it's real and I can't even begin to explain how deep it flows. For me, standing for Israel is not only apart of my calling in God, but one the ultimate things I can personally to to please Him. No, this race isn't given to everyone as I've stated in previous blogs, but the decision to open yourself up spiritually

Tonight is the first night of Chanukah, a Jewish holiday that is not Christmas. If you don't know what it commemorates wiki it, or you can read about it in the first book of Maccabaeus which is part of the Catholic Bible (recognized as historical but not as canonical by the Jews or the Protestants, don't ask me why.) Ironically enough, the only other place in Scripture Chanukah is mentioned is in the Gospel of John, Chapter 10 verse 22.

It is of course almost two weeks until the traditional Western observance of Christmas. There are Eastern Orthodox churches that celebrate the holiday on two other later dates, but once again if you're curious about that wiki it.

I know there is a lot of controversy and buzz in the Pro-Israel Christian/Messianic Jewish community over whether or not we should celebrate Christmas or Chanukah or neither or both, since there is nothing specific in the Bible to tell us whether Jesus celebrated Chanukah and a lot of people are uncomfortable with Gentiles celebrating this holiday.

Beyond question, there is a lot of pagan garbage in Christmas. The tree comes from a druid tradition, Santa Claus is an amalgamation of several pagan ideas (my personal favorite being how he has a red suit because in 1930, the Coca Cola Company ran the first ever color add in the New York Times, giving Santa a red suit to match the color on the company logo, even though Santa had never had a specifically red suit before that) and even Gi

It's been nearly 2 1/2 months since my beginning of many pilgrimages to the Holy Land. It took weeks for me to stop crying and mourning over being back here in the the US and not in Israel. I still feel as though I left a huge part of me there. I'm not the same person I was when I left, and I never will be. Yes, I've settled into my somewhat "usual" routine, but I'm now in the process of the exact meaning and purpose I am to fulfill for and IN Israel.

Returning to my campus with such zeal and committment to Israel and its protection, I found similar charisma, well....rare. Those around me, congregation members, others I thought were pro-Israel, all of a sudden didn't get the point. They questioned my reasoning for supporting and wanting to create a pro-Israel support group in my city. While it's been extremly diffucult to go forth with such plans; with God's grace and favor on me, I am soooo thankful to have met and befriended those Christians that understand the unspoken language of purpose and passion for Israel, that I traveled with this summer with Christians United for Israel.
