This year 25,000 Christian pilgrims are expected to visit Israel to celebrate Christmas in the Holy Land. Advent, which began this year on November 27, 2012 continues for four Sundays thru Christmas Eve, December 24. During this very special period, there are numerous services and other religious festivities to be enjoyed throughout the Holy Land. So if you are interested in truly celebrating 14 days of Christmas which extend this year from December 25, to the Armenian Orthodox Christmas celebration on January 6 or the Eastern Orthodox celebration on January 7, 2013 look no further than Travelujah's comprehensive listing below of Christmas festivities and services by city, church and denominations. This year 25,000 Christian pilgrims are expected to visit Israel to celebrate Christmas in the Holy Land, according to the Israel Ministry of Tourism. The Overall, the year 2012 is expected to be another record year for incoming tourism to Israel. About 3.3 million tourists have visited Israel from January through November 2012 and Travelujah estimates that total tourism figures for year end 2013 will reach 3.5 million visitors. Of these, about 60% are Christian tourists. The majority of the Christian market is Catholic (approximately 52%), while 21% is Protestant and 10% is comprised of Orthodox Christians.

The Israel Tourism Ministry kicked off the Christmas celebration yesterday by hosting leaders of the Christian communities in the Holy Land, the leaders of which represent the 120,000 Christians who live in Israel.
