What is Travelujah?
travelujah is a faith-based social network for Christians seeking to connect to the Holy Land. Our mission is to provide others with extensive Christian travel resources and interesting content enabling them to foster a deeper connection with their faiths and ministries. Travelujah is the only travel content site where people can learn, plan and share their Holy Land tour and travel experiences.
Travelujah was founded in 2009 by Elisa Moed, a 25 year tourism consulting veteran and graduate of the University of Michigan with an MS in Hospitality Management from Florida International University, and Lori Kaufmann, a 25 year marketing strategy specialist and MBA graduate from Harvard University. Elisa's extensive tourism background focused on the development of emerging markets and specifically in Christian tourism. She's completed engagements for major hotels, developers, churches, financial institutions including such leading names as Club Med, Fidelity, Marriott, Four Seasons, Hyatt, Holiday Inn, CMJ-Israel, American Colony, Pontifical Institute of Jerusalem and numerous real estate development and consulting firms. Both women are 'olim' ; Elisa moved to Israel from Boca Raton in 2005 with her husband and four children and Lori moved in 1985 with her husband and one child. (though she now has four)
Travelujah is the only Israeli company chosen by the Office of the Quartet Representative Tony Blair to participate in an 7-member Holy Land tourism operating panel focusing on the development of new markets for joint tourism and creating and implementing joint programming, marketing and other initiatives that will encourage tourism and economic development in both Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
Travelujah is an invited participant for the Knesset Forum's coordinating body of the Resource Development Committee, which assists the Committee in building strategic fundraising plans and identifying partnership opportunities, with our focus on Christian Zionists and donor relations.
Our particular expertise in Christian tourism as well as our relationships with the numerous denominations represented throughout the Holy Land provides us with an in depth perspective and access when it comes to providing expert travel advice as well as high quality content.
travelujah offers a vibrant social community where you can upload your pictures, read traveler reviews, write a travel blog, discuss topics, learn about the Bible and places of Interest. Our website is a one-stop travel source for Christian information and content, hotels and Christian guesthouses, tours and special services such as baptisms and marriage vow renewals. Travelujah has affiliate agreements with a number of reputable tour operators in Israel for car rental services, guaranteed daily and weekly tours and hotel reservations. Because of our focus and contacts, we have our own proprietary network of specialty guides as well as specific tour operators that we use for our unique tailor made programs.
Moreover, travelujah is the only website offering access to the small, historic Christian guest houses located throughout Israel, Jordan, Egypt and the Palestinian Territories for groups of 10 persons or more. We can do this because of our established relationships with the management of these exclusive Church-run properties, most of which are managed by nuns of different orders. To ensure the personal attention of these exclusive properties, Travelujah processes each reservation, confirmation and voucher personally and communicates directly with you. Because availability varies each day, and because the guest house management is in prayer during certain periods, confirmation on your reservation can take up to 48 hours at these accommodations.
As CEO of travelujah, it is my hope that Travelujah will encourage people to visit the Holy Land. A trip to the Holy Land ultimately impacts the way we view our lives, our families, our faith, our heritage. One week in the Holy Land is worth 40 years of bible study. We hope that all people will be blessed with the opportunity to experience the Holy Land and to grow spiritually by discovering the ancient and modern holy and historical sites, the culture and the people found in this very special land of the bible.
