Coming to the Holy Land is a Grace from God The heart and soul of a pilgrim's experience in the Holy Land is precisely this: an encounter with God. There is something in this land that profoundly touches the heart, something that cannot be found in any other place, no matter how beautiful and holy it may be.

While I write these words, I am on the Mount of the Beatitudes. From my window, I am contemplating the dawn over the Sea of Galilee. It is easy to imagine Jesus walking through these places, followed by the crowds; one can imagine him multiplying the loaves, calming the storm, calling his first disciples... There is a fisherman in front of my window who is casting his nets into the sea to catch some fish... How can I not imagine the scene of Jesus telling Peter to "set out into the deep" -Duc in Altum, in Latin - "and cast your nets over the right side of the boat"? This is the sky that Jesus contemplated, the flowers that inspired his teachings on the providence of his heavenly Father. In short, it is the unique and unrepeatable scene of the event of events in the history of mankind, an event that is simply called: JESUS.

The Holy Land is a grace. I want this grace for you and for all of your loved ones. I hope these pages might encourage you to come to the Holy Land, and I hope you will find in them the spiritual and practical assistance you need to organize your pilgrimage. May you enjoy this grace soon.
